Water Treatment

Water treatment is now benefiting from Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC). GRC can be moulded into strong light complex shapes making it ideal for the manufacture of monolithic filter floors. In addition GRC is being used by the water industry to provide channels for reed bed systems.

Sample Chambers  

Modern environmental concerns have lead to greater controls and testing of water that is released into the water courses. The provision of a sampling chamber at all treatment outfalls, enables the Environment Agency to take quick and simple readings of the water quality and quantities discharged.

The sampling chambers are available in two sizes and can be supplied with all the necessary weir plates and safety lids. The attached photo shows a recently installed chamber for Severn Trent.

WRAS Approval

WRAS regulations advisory scheme BCM GRC has received approval from the WRAS in regard to Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) as an item which has passed full tests of effect of water quality - BS 6920
